Stunning antique French large sterling silver oval tray, Louis XV / Louis XVI style. Our tray was manufactured by Odiot, most famous French silversmith. Very high quality item (silver thickness...), soberly decorated with ribbons. A coat of arms is engraved on the edge, held by two lions ; a crown of count sits on top of it. The tray used to belong to French aristocrat family of Counts of Nattes. French hallmark Minerva 1st standard (.950 purity silver) and silversmith stamp, together with "Odiot à Paris" mention under the tray. Our tray is in excellent condition.
Note that we also sell another 3 circular trays that come from the same family, same pattern and same silversmith. Two of them have a crown of Marquis instead of the crown of Count. It is a rare opportunity to build a luxurious, consistent set of trays.
