Delivery
Every antique is unique. Every shipment deserves the same care. At GSLR Antiques, we take great care in preparing every order. Whether you purchase a small silver object or an eighteenth-century piece of furniture, we always select the transport solution best suited to your acquisition so that it reaches you in excellent condition.
Careful packing
Every item is packed individually. Depending on its nature, we use appropriate protective materials including bubble wrap, loose-fill cushioning, reinforced cartons, custom-made packaging for particularly fragile items and suitable protection for furniture transported by road.
Our objective is simple: your purchase should arrive in the same condition as when it left our gallery.
Shipping methods
Smaller items suitable for parcel delivery are shipped using an appropriate tracked carrier and, where necessary, insured according to their value.
Furniture, mirrors, chandeliers and particularly large or fragile pieces are entrusted to specialist fine-art and antique furniture carriers. Delivery is arranged by appointment.
If you already have a trusted carrier, we will of course be pleased to hand your purchase over to them by appointment. From the moment the item is released to the carrier appointed by the customer, responsibility for the transport rests with that carrier.
Delivery in France and worldwide
We regularly ship our antiques to:
- throughout France;
- all European Union countries;
- Switzerland;
- the United Kingdom;
- the United States;
- Japan and China;
- and many other destinations worldwide.
Certain destinations, including the United States, may be subject to customs duties, import taxes or other charges levied by local authorities. These costs are not included in either the purchase price or the shipping charges invoiced by GSLR Antiques and remain entirely the responsibility of the purchaser. We are naturally happy to provide guidance before any international order.
Delivery times
Delivery times mainly depend on:
- the nature of the item;
- the chosen method of transport;
- the destination.
Smaller items are generally dispatched within a few working days after payment has been received (excluding holiday closure periods).
Deliveries by specialist carrier are arranged directly with the customer in order to agree on a convenient delivery appointment.
Receiving your order
Upon delivery, we recommend that you inspect the apparent condition of the parcel before signing the delivery receipt.
If you notice any damage or irregularity, we recommend that you:
- make detailed reservations with the carrier;
- keep all packaging materials;
- take photographs of both the parcel and the contents;
- contact us promptly so that we can assist you with the necessary procedures.
Without these elements, it may be considerably more difficult to establish the origin of the damage with the carrier or its insurer, which could delay or even compromise the handling of the claim.
