Beautiful tall Empire mirror set into its gold leaf gilt wood frame, early 19th century.
Very large size. The decoration is made of oak leaves referring to Mars - god of war. Our mirror was very certainly made for an Officer serving in Napoleon's army.
Original mercury glass split into 2 parts, spotless and beautifully sparkling in the bottom : our mirror has got every technical qualities that demanding amateurs are looking for. The format is very convenient. Ideal to place on above fireplace.
Our mirror and its frame were cleaned by our gilder, it is clean and in perfect condition and kept its original parquet.
