Pair of tripod ormolu candlesticks, mercury gilt, late Empire production (early 19th century).

Very rich & high quality model : very fine carving, beautiful gilt, made of 16 independent pieces (the more there are, the higher the quality is. Usually, the most beautiful models have 8 or 9 elements).

The bronzier is not identified, but he is undoubtedly a great Parisian master (might be Galle, Ravrio or Thomire).

In excellent condition, original gilt well preserved. Bobeches replaced.
