Solid mahogany marine case / box, radial edges reinforced with brass, a brass plaque adorned with a gothic style TE monogram.

Early 19th century English work in the taste of Martin Guillaume Biennais, circa 1820 (...Patent stamped on the lock).

Beautiful model ; the use of solid mahogany (rotproof wood) and brass corner reinforcements are intended to make the most robust box for a sea usage where items slide or roll all the time.

A refined object adapted to a navy officer / gentleman daily life.

It is in very good condition, cleaned, varnish revived by our cabinetmaker. No accident ; the key is missing.

Length : 32.3cm
Width : 24.8cm
Height : 12.3cm
