Rare reduced Dragon's officer helmet, French second Empire (model 1858).
It is the exact replica of a French officer's helmet except that it is a scale model (5.5 cm diameter), with all the details: Medusa head, grenade, crest and ponytail, panther or leopard skin, internal jugular and leather trim.
This is probably a work of mastery or a child's toy.
It is in very good condition ; gilt with fine gold is fresh and well preserved, the horsehair also, some wear to the leopard skin, the plume holder of the helmet is missing.
