Stunning French sterling silver milk jug, made by Cardeilhac, one of the most famous and talented silversmiths that France ever knew, together with Puiforcat, Odiot... The pattern is a classic at Christofle manufacture : Malmaison is a beautiful, fine Empire design created in the late 1960's ; today Malmaison is still commercialized, mainly in the silverplate range ; the silver plated milk jug would cost 830€ on Christofle website. Christofle stopped manufacturing most of its sterling silver tableware but this sterling silver milk jug used to cost over 4000 euros. There is no monogram on our milk jug : your can engrave yours, or your coat of arms. French hallmark Minerva 1st standard is stamped a few times on the item. Also there are three silversmith stamps : Cardeilhac stamp (legion of Honor with a royal crown on top and a crescent below), the name "Cardeilhac" and Christofle sterling silver stamp (OC with a bee and three stars on top). In mint condition. No bump, no hollow, no scratch. Silver is still very well polished. Very rare to find in such a perfect condition.
