Beautiful Louis XVI secretaire or writing desk, France, late 18th century Parisian or from Bordeaux work (or early 19th century circa 1790 - 1800 - Directoire period).
A very refined model veneered with refined wood varieties : lemon tree, amaranth and mahogany on an oak structure, brass inlays ; Louis XVI lemon tree veneered pieces of furniture are shown in the greatest museums ; the shamrock-shaped locks are another evidence of a high-range production.
Our writing desk in excellent condition. our cabinetmaker has just restored the French varnish in a traditional way. An antique repair on the left side of the marble. The brass frame on top has been repaired too.
