4 Empire mahogany armchairs by Jacob Freres, early 19th century circa 1803 - 1805.
Although not signed, the refined sculptures quality and style (swans and lion legs and feet) leave no doubt about these seats being manufactured by Jacob Freres.
Very confortable model, so-called fauteuil gondole in French.
Fully restored in a traditional way (varnish, seating) and covered with a leopard pattern velvet (Osborne & Little fabric), very fashionable during Empire period, and also much valued by French decorators (Madeleine Castaing) ; our set of armchairs is in excellent condition.
