Elegant pair of cabriolet chairs with trapezoidal back, olive-shaped feet, Louis XVI production (late 18th century).
Sculpture is very nervous, and its quality is particularly visible on the roses-shaped connecting dice (on the front side but also on the back side of the seats) and on the curved base of the backrest. Perfect lines, excellent finish, these chairs are indisputably a Parisian production of a famous carpenter in seats. In addition, the crossties are hollowed out inside, which is a characteristic of the work of Georges Jacob. This attribution is very likely, otherwise it is the work of another great carpenter in seats of equivalent quality.
Our chairs have been fully restored with the highest quality standards. The examination during restoration showed that these chairs had been garnished only once since the 18th century and before our restoration. The trim has been reassembled in the same way keeping the 18th century straps underneath. The chairs were covered with a Louis XVI style blue damask from Tassinari and Chatel manufacture and enhanced with stripes tone on tone.
They are in perfect condition.
