Set of 4 mahogany armchairs, France - Empire period circa 1810.
Although not stamped, the excellent quality of construction and finish are the work of a great seat maker. This is most likely a work of Marcion, who produced seats of the same kind, but it can also be a production of Jacob Desmalter (both were main suppliers for Empire palaces and dignitaries). A very close model showed as N ° 49 / F14 page 154 in the book Marcion cabinetmaker of Napoleon by Jean Pierre Planchon.
Our seats are so-called officers chairs, the curve at the armrest allowing a soldier to sit with his sword.

Very good condition ; these seats have been perfectly restored. Mahogany cleaned and revived by our cabinetmaker. Green silk in very good condition (slight traces, not a new fabric but still very clean, without wear).
