18th century French school, follower of Etienne Aubry : portrait of painter Etienne Jeaurat, oil on canvas set into its beautiful original Louis XVI frame (carved wood gilt with gold leaf). Our painting is a contemporary copy (from the 18th century) of the portrait presented at the De Young Museum in San Francisco, USA.
The painter is represented in his privacy as a 18th century man of quality, wearing his silk dressing gown, a cap on his head, sitting in front of his easel and ready to paint. It is a beautiful painting, very decorative, large size, really not a common portrait.
Very good condition, picture and frame cleaned by our restorer (old restorations on the canvas)
