Pair of gilt wood cabriolet armchairs.
Stamp of Jean Baptiste Boulard (1725-1789), seatmaker for the King of France. Louis XVI period, circa 1780.
Exceptional model gilt with gold leaf, very finely carved.
Boulard is a very talented and famous seatmaker since he started to work for the Crown in 1777. He can be considered one of the best seatmakers in Paris in the second half of the 18th century. Therefore he participated in the furnishing of most royal residences such as Versailles.
Our armchairs were covered as new with an exceptional dark green silk velvet from Tassinari & Chatel. Gold leaf was just cleaned by our gilder. Our chairs are in perfect condition.
These are top-quality collectors and are worthy of Versailles palace !
