Rare pair of a l'Etrusque mahogany chairs, late 18th century (Directoire - early French Consulate period).

That pattern is a direct evocation of Antiquity seats depicted on murals and vases discovered in Roman excavations.

Very refined model, superior quality, to be compared with the production of Demay, famous luxury seat maker active in Paris from 1784 to 1815.

The chairs are in excellent condition, we just have them covered as new with this exceptional deep green silk velvet (Tassinari & Chatel). Height : 87.5 cm
Seat height : 44cm
Width : 43cm
