Pair of mahogany chairs, Directoire Parisian work circa 1795 - 1800. Sophisticated model with Russian style ebony and brass inlays, presumably a work of Parisian seatmaker Marcion or Demay : very elegant plainness, beautiful lines.

In excellent condition. Original Varnish restored in a traditional way (French varnish). Original lining with a black horsehair fabric on top.
