Pair of mahogany chairs, late 18th century production circa 1795 (French Directoire). Beautiful, refined production with an smart openwork backrest, removable seat, mercury ormolu rose on the top-part of the feet.

One of them is stamped Georges Jacob. Although the signature is obviously apocryphal, our pair of chairs is undoubtedly the work of Geroges Jacob : proportions are very elegant, finish is perfect, and this model is known from Jacob productions catalog (with small variants).

In excellent condition, varnish has been recently renewed in a traditional way. Covered with a Directoire style pearl grey silk from Tassinari & Chatel.

Width : 46cm
Height : 83cm
