Rare pair of à l'Etrusque mahogany chairs. Attributed to Jacob Desmalter end of Consulate - beginning of Empire period.

That pattern is a direct evocation of Antiquity seats depicted on murals and vases discovered in Roman excavations.

Our chairs are a uncommon and interesting model that is not easy to find. The originality of the pattern, similarities with Jacob's seats and the excellent finitions induce this attribution.

Mahogany is in good condition, the old varnish was cleaned and revived. Traces of old restorations on the back. The chairs are solid. They are covered with a brocaded brown silk in good condition. We can keep it or have it covered as new with a wide choice of silks - contact us.

Height : 86cm
Seat height : 43cm
