Tall statue of Saint Joseph, carved wood gilt with gold leaf (clothes) and patinated wood (hands and head). Early 19th century production circa 1820-1830.

In Catholic religion, Saint Joseph is the adoptive father of Jesus Child and protector of families.

Tall piece meant to be placed in a chapel or on top of a large piece of furniture in a castle.

Very good general condition, beautiful original gilt, beautiful patina, and some wear. A finger is missing from the right hand where a branch of lily should normally be held.
