Very fine 18th century Louis XVI wool and silk Aubusson tapestry. 18th century, Louis XVI production.

Our beautiful tapestry was part of a set of 4 : the four seasons. This one pictures an allegory of summer, with goddess Ceres holding her scythe and ears of wheat.

High end production, characterized by the richness of its decoration, the freshness of its polychromy and its ocher orange background, particularly rare.

Good overall condition ; colors are well preserved. Some wear on the background of the medallion. Borders cut and rewoven. The tapestry is lined with canvas for its preservation.

Height : 220cm
