Superb wool and silk Aubusson tapestry mid 18th century (Transition Louis XV / Louis XVI).
It pictures a gallant scene after Boucher with an elegant shepherdess courted by a gentleman in a castle garden. Very rich original border decorated with cabochons simulating gemstones. Ideal size, neither too large nor too small.
The colours are outstandingly fresh, reds are very well preserved. Some wear and old restorations, but the whole remains in good condition and superb. The tapestry is lined with a canvas to ease hanging.
