Empire ormolu and patinated bronze mantel bar, France, early 19th century circa 1820.

Patinated bronze Egyptian lionesses on the side terraces inspired from the Capitol in Roma (they were used a lot on many Empire andirons by Ravrio or Claude Galle), fine ormolu decorations on the bar : dolphins, fountain, rose and palm leaves.

Complete and functional, our bar is a large model for a castle mantel. Beautiful collector in excellent condition, ideal to complete an Empire decoration. Gilt is original, a little attenuated.
