Beautiful carved and gilt wood barometer, original mercury mechanism that works. France, circa 1815.
Octagonal Empire model, central cartridge decorated with 3 fleurs-de-lys (Royal coat of arms of France) which makes it a very interesting historical object.
Very good condition, the barometer is complete with its decor, the fragile mechanism is functional. The gilt frame with the gold leaf was cleaned by our gilder.
