Antique French Louis XVI sterling silver oil & vinegar set, late 18th century.
Beautiful Louis XVI production. Bottles are crystal bottles : they were probably manufactured during 19th century, but they are perfect replicas of what would be the original glass bottles, and fit the silver stopper perfectly.
PSL monogram engraved on the front cartouche.
According to the hallmarks, our set is a Parisian production manufactured in 1789 ("fermiers généraux" hallmarks). Later on - under French Restoration - it was stamped again with the Old Man hallmark (used between 1819 and 1838).
