Antique French Empire vermeil (sterling silver covered with fine gold) drageoir or candy box.

Our drageoir is decorated with laurels and has finely chiseled dolphin-shaped handles. There is no monogram there : you can engrave yours, or your coat of arms.

French hallmark Old Man (Michelangelo) and guarantee mark in use during French Restoration period (1819-1838). Also the silvermaker mark is there but we cannot identify it since it is on the edge.

Our object is in close to perfect condition although it is almost 200 years. Vermeil is still fresh and bright, there is no distortion at all, no hollow, no bump.

Weight : 417g
Height : 14cm
Diameter : 14cm (21cm handles included)
