Antique French sterling silver drageoir / candy bowl.
Beautiful item richly decorated in the French Restoration style. Finely chiseled crown of laurels shaped hold surrounded with acanthus. Greyhound-shaped handles. Finely chiseled Bacchus (Dionysos) on the side.
The lid is engraved with a coat of arms - an axe, held by two greyhounds on either side - with a crown of Count on top.
French hallmark Minerva 1st standard and silversmith mark (BN with a glass or chalice between the two letters, to be identified) stamped.
