Precious violet wood commode - chest of drawers, rich Rococo ormolu bronze ornament.
It opens with two drawers. Symetrical Rocaille model, Parisian work circa 1750. François Garnier's FG stamp applied 5 times on the 4 angles under the marble.
François Garnier is a very talented cabinetmaker of 18th century ; he began his career in the 1730s under French Regency and died in 1774. His production is always very refined and elegant. François Garnier is the father of Pierre Garnier, one of the most famous cabinetmakers of late 18th century.
Our commode is in excellent condition. Fully resored with a new varnish. Original marble and bronzes, 18th century mercury gilt well preserved.
