Pair of gilt wood armchairs - France circa 1796-1799 attributed to Jacob
Louis XVI officer commode / chest of drawers, mahogany & brass, late 18th century
Beautiful mahogany chest of drawers or commode, white marble in a brass gallery.
Three large drawers, the top one with partitions for the shirts.
Parisian production, end of Louis XVI period or Directoire, model made for an officer. Our dresser has the refined finish of a classical model. If it is not stamped, but it is certainly the work of a good Parisian cabinet maker : elegant proportions and excellent finishes : oak structure, noble materials (beautiful mahogany), use of brass including in the columns (which illuminates the commode), finely chiseled brass gallery.
Excellent condition : clean marble ; our dresser has been cleaned and the varnish revived by our cabinetmaker. No accidents. Beautiful piece.
